25 day trip > 17 day cycle >12 nights hotels >12 nights camping
For the dedicated mountain cyclist there are few trips to match this
high altitude expedition across the vast Tibetan Plateau. This sensational tour combines
this with an exhilarating ‘off the highway' ride to over 5500m beneath
the towering north face of Everest. After a few days acclimatising and
appreciating the cultural highlights of Lhasa you will prepare for this
challenging, fully supported expedition (with accompanying crew and
vehicle). Follow the Lhasa to Kathmandu ‘highway' along a mostly
sealed road and over a series of 5000m high passes linking Gyantse,
Shigatse and Shegar. Beyond the towns your overnight camps provide an
opportunity to visit villages often missed on the regular overland drive
to Kathmandu. At Shegar the tour will divert to the Rongbuk Monastery and Everest
Base Camp to gain unsurpassed views of the north face of Everest. This
is your highest point before freewheeling almost 4000m from the Tibetan
Plateau to Nepal and continuing our adventure to Kathmandu.Talk to us to learn more about this amazing journey.
